Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We hope everyone enjoyed their wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Nora enjoyed her 1st Thanksgiving with the Bromeier's this year. She got to see all of her mom's cousins and visit with Great-Gran, Grandma, Grandpa and many others.

She had a lot of fun playing with toys. We are very thankful for our healthy little girl. We are also thankful for such wonderful families and friends. We wish we could have been with everyone, but you were in our hearts! We love you all.

Nora got a new hat from cousin Jalen and she just loves wearing it. She did not like it at first, but now laughs when you put it on her. I got a cute little smile the other morning as we were getting ready to leave to go to the sitter's house. I couldn't resist posting it!
Now if she isn't her father's daughter. Nora is obsessed with the remote control. She is entertained by it for at least 10 minutes. She loves pushing the buttons and swinging it around. This is the only thing she will roll over for! Which is a rare occurance.

Nora is 6 months old!!!!

Well Nora is officially 6 months old now. She went to the doctor this past Monday for her 6 month checkup. She got 4 shots too! We have a wonderfully healthy little girl on our hands. She weighed in at 18 lbs 7 oz. Yes, you are seeing that right! She is 27" long and is the 88th percentile for both height and length. She is big and already wearing 9 month clothes because she is so long in the torso. Unfortunately she is not too long in the legs.
Nora has started to eat cereal and baby food. She is on her third week of baby food. She was sooo lucky to start with peas. She did not know what to think. Then we moved to green beans which she actually liked. This past week we gave her banana. I mashed a real banana up, but she didn't care for it too much. Well that is the official update. Hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful Thanksgiving if we won't be seeing you. I will put up some pics next week of Thanksgiving! Lots of Love!

Happy Halloween!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
Needless to say we had a marvelous Halloween, if you couldn't tell by the pictures. We dressed up in multiple costumes.

The weeks festivities started on Monday evening at Grandma's house making caramel apples with Great Gran, Grandma, Jalen, Aunt Boo, Aunt Kiki, Molly and Nora. We had a lot of fun making the apples and eating the extra caramel and rice krispies! YUM! YUM!

The next event was on Wednesday when we went to Grandma's again to do our annual carving of pumpkins. Aunt Kiki, Jalen, Peter and myself all carved pumpkins. We made a huge mess on the kitchen table.
As we all know Friday night was halloween. We got all dressed up and went over to my parents' friends house for chili and candy. Nora got dressed and the poor girl just sweat to death. She was so hot in her little spider costume. Of course mom had to get a picture of her out by our pumpkins though! Yes, you are seeing the picture right. That is Peter with a huge pumpkin on his head. You could say he was the pumpkin head killer. I was his victim. We headed to a party that evening with some friends.

The next evening my cousin Kurt and his girlfriend Erin had a Halloween party. So we decided to get dressed up again. Needless to say Peter was not thrilled about wearing his giant pumpkin again so we improvised. He went as Walter from the "Big Lebowski" and I went as....well someone who just stepped out of the shower. We had a lot of fun that evening as well!

Halloween was a blast for all the Reids. We enjoyed the weekend, but glad it is over!!! Can't wait for next year!

Grants Farm

Okay, so I haven't posted forever so I will start with the beginning of October! The Reids and the Stroups went to Grants Farm on a beautiful Sunday in October. We had fun walking around and seeing the animals. Peter had never been to Grant's Farm before. We walked on the trail to get there!

The mama's and their girls!

Friends from the start!
What are they looking at?

Their silly daddy's making faces at them so they would look at the camera!

The boys pushing their girls!

What is Peter wearing you ask?

Not sure, but aren't we a cute family!

Nora is 4 months old!!!

So Nora went to visit the doctor yesterday! She officially weighs 15.4 pounds and is 25 inches long! She is just our growing girl! The doctor said she is healthy and looks good. She also got 4 shots, poor baby. For those of you who aren't around, our baby does not cry, and she wailed yesterday during her shots. She even had real tears, it made me want to cry! She did not cry after the first one, but as soon as she got the second one I think she realized that it didn't feel very good.

We had some fun this weekend and Nora was a very happy girl. She is very close to rolling over both ways. She rolled from her belly to back at the doctor's office! I think she wanted to show off! It has cooled off a lot here and so she was able to wear the shirt that dad picked out so long ago. I don't think it is going to fit her much longer though. I am not sure what we were thinking when we picked out a long sleeve 3 month onsie, but oh well. As you notice I had to put a headband on her so she didn't look like a little boy. Doesn't she look so cute with it on?!

I absolutely love this picture of her in the bumbo! She is just a happy, happy girl. This picture totally grabs our little girls wonderful personality. She was watching the Bears game with daddy. It was still a little too warm to wear her Bears cheerleading outfit from Uncle Tim and Aunt Candace, but don't worry it will happen! All you have to do these days to make her smile is make a funny face at her or say ma, ma, ma, ma! She just smiles away. Nora has also started giggling. It is sooo funny to hear her giggle because sometimes it sounds like a little growl. She really giggles when daddy rubs her belly on his big head! She grabs onto what little hair he has and giggles away!

Needless to say we are a very happy family right now and enjoying everything that Nora is doing. She has also found out or recognized Staley. When she finds him she follows his every move. She doesn't mind getting licked in the face too! I know, gross! But she gets bathed almost everyday, so it doesn't matter too much. Nala is getting a little more brave around her and has gone up and sniffed Nora's foot, but that is the extent of that.

All is well in the Reid household! Take care everyone and hopefully we will talk or see you soon!

She finally did it!!!

My baby finally did it! She finally lifted her head. After about a month of worrying and thinking that my child would never lift her head she did. It is amazing as a mom how much you worry about milestones and such. I wanted her to do this so bad and now she is doing it and I am so proud of her. The first picture is from last week, when she first held her head up. I went running for the camera to show proof that she actually did this. I actually got a picture of her smiling while holding her head up today, now that is an accomplishment! Now the new worry is she will never roll over, will she ever have that deep belly giggle? Of course she will, but it is my job to worry.

We just experienced our first cold this past weekend too. Do you know how gross and hard it is to use the booger sucker?! Especially when your child does not want you to! Thank goodness for multiple sets of hands being around to help. This task just cannot be done on your own. I don't know who was worse for the wear, Nora or me. After Jalen was born I always told myself I would never pick my childs nose. Until you are a mom youwill never understand. Peter looked at me today and said "Look, you are picking her nose!". Sometimes that sucker just doesn't get out what you want! We are all finally feeling much better today and had a good play session. Back to work tomorrow.
