Nora's 1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Nora's first birthday this past weekend. We all had a wonderful time. We started preparing for the big birthday bash about two weeks prior. I thought I might have heart failure because we were having a patio being poured and two weeks before the party it wasn't done!!! God knew that we wouldn't be able to have the party without it, so things finished smoothly.
The Friday before the party Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Karen, Aunt Rena, Uncle Tim and Aunt Candace, Aunt Colleen and Danny came into town. I was a little worried again because it rained all day Friday. Saturday morning we woke up and all was well!!! The sun was out and the weather was perfect. I put everyone to work (imagine that) and we had everything ready to go.

The party started at 4:00 and everyone came in full force. We had about 60 adults and children at our house for the festivities. We have never had that many people over before, so thank goodness it was a beautiful day! Nora had a lot of fun seeing and playing with everyone.

We opened presents and boy did our little girl make a haul!!! Everyone was sooo generous. She got everything from toys to clothes. She is set for the summer! Nora also had fun eating her cupcake. She helped me blow out her candle and then dived in! Downed a whole sippy of milk in the process too! Who doesn't like milk with their cake?! After a very long day the birthday girl retired to bed.

This morning when I woke Nora up she knew she had new things out there to play with. She kept pointing to the door and grunting. As soon as we got out of the bedroom she was pointing at everything and was super excited to get down on the floor and play! Thanks again to everyone who helped and generously gave gifts!! We had a great time!
