Wow, has it been a busy week! Christmas started for us last Friday and continued through Christmas Day. All I have to say is we are so blessed to have such loving families. We are pretty spoiled, kids and adults alike!
On Friday we celebrated Christmas with my dad and Grandma. My dad got Peter and I a Kuerig and we LOVE it. Nora got Rams stuff, which is excellent and Stella got some much needed things as well.
On Saturday we celebrated with my mom at Katie's house. We made out man! We also had some fun drinks that I made from Pinterest. I had grinch punch for Jalen and Nora and peppermint bark and winter wonderland martinis for the adults.
On Sunday we headed to Chicago. We had to rent a car because we knew that with Santa coming to Chicago and the other gifts we receive we would not make it in the Vue. So we rented a car and my uncle hooked us up! He works for Hertz and we had a fully loaded Traverse!!! My dream car (and that is what I will be saving for now). It was a great car and the drive up wasn't too bad.
We hung out with friends and family on Sunday evening and had Lou's for dinner. Best pizza ever!
On Monday I went and took pics of Isla and Naomi and then that evening we headed to the McKearnans for Christmas eve. It was a very nice evening and it was good to see all the Reid side of the family.
On Christmas morning we woke up to Santa having found us and had a great time opening gifts from Santa, grandma and grandpa and then the Harrigan side of the family. Like I said before we are pretty spoiled!!!
We have had a great week and cannot wait to ring in the New Year! Here is to hoping our house sells quickly in 2013!!!
The pics are not in order (which bothers me) but enjoy!

Xmas Make and Take
Last night up at Nora's school they had a Christmas Make and Take. It was cute and it was for anyone that participates in the Parents as Teachers program through Affton. So it was mainly younger kiddos, but there were a few Nora's age. They had 5 different stations and at all of them you made something. The first station was a lacing station with a holiday card, the second station they made an ornament with their thumb print, the third station they decorated a snow scene, fourth station they made reindeer food and the fifth station was a cookie icing station. It lasted about 30 min. and on our way out the big man himself was entering the building. Santa was there and Nora was scared. I am not sure what happened between this year and last year, but she is scared of Santa. She wants to have nothing to do with him. As soon as she saw him she was ready to go home and headed away from where Santa was walking. We still have not gone to sit on Santa's lap and it should be interesting when we do. Here are some pics from the evening.

Cookie Baking 2012
Today we baked cut out cookies. This is an annual tradition in the Bromeier family. We have been doing cut out cookies for as long as I can remember. This year we had everyone but Susie and my Grandma. Susie was studying for finals and my grandma was sick. We started at noon and finished up around 2:30 or so. Nora and Jalen last a good while too. They had fun cutting them out and decorating them.
I am not sure if you can tell here or not, but they went to town on a few of the cookies. There was more sprinkles than actual cookie on some of them ;)

Nora was very proud of the cookies she made! She even brought some to school with her to give her teachers today! |
Daphne's Baptism
Last Sunday Daphne was baptized. Peter and I are her godparents so we got to partake in the service. It was a nice service and they had everyone back to their house afterwards. Here are some pics! it was a warm day for Dec. 2, almost 75 degrees, that is why I have a short sleeve dress on. It was neat too because Daphne wore the same dress that Nora and Stella wore. I love that it is being used again. I wonder who will wear it next?!
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was a yucky day for me. Peter and I had food poisoning and it was bad. I had it the worst and it lasted all day long. I was banned from the kitchen and that is the way it was. My great plan of shopping was thrown to the wayside as i was in bed at 8:30 on Thanksgiving night. Anyway, here are some pics from the day!
Nora was all about letting me take her picture, which is rare, so I snapped away!
I straightened Nora's hair that morning with my flat iron and it looked so cute! She hated every minute of it because it was too hot! |
Isn't he getting so big! He just looks so grown up in this picture. I just cannot believe he is going to be 10 n 2013!! |

Happy Halloween!
On Sunday we headed to mom's for Sunday dinner and we carved pumpkins too! This has become a tradition and it is a fun one! Nora was soooo excited to carve pumpkins this year and about Halloween in general.
For Halloween we headed over to the Kountzmans house, as usual. They are always so gracious to host Halloween and this year was no different. Uncle Ray makes his wonderful chilly and we eat and go trick or treating with Jalen. Nora was a bit of a crab (no pun intended) and she has become so bossy. And really it is only when I am around, when I am not she is a pretty kind kid. Anyway....this year the girls went as Ariel and Sebastian. I don't think we will have many years that we will be able to dress them the same or themed costumes. Nora had a great time going house to house with jalen. She made it pretty far (in my opinion). She chased after Jalen and told a joke at every house. I knew she was getting close to being done when she quit carrying her pumpkin filled with candy around. We hit a few more houses and headed back to the house. She certainly was wired!!!
Grandma and her little Crab! |
All of the Grandkids! And Nora has a new thing where she doesn't want to be in pictures. That is why she was crying! |
I even dressed up this year as a vampire. I put the fangs in and went to show nora and she cried and cried until I took them out. |
