Our House

Wow! We are crazy! Our house is on the market. After much debate and thinking and back and forth it is up. For a while we thought this would be our home forever, but in recent months that has changed. We just cannot do what we want to do to make it bigger and so we put it up. From what we hear the market is really good in St. Louis right now. We know a handful of people that have had contracts within the first week of going up (my sister included). So we are hoping for that same kind of luck too! Only time will tell now.
This was not an easy decision and picking a place to move is an even harder decision than I had imagined. I was naive in thinking that the perfect house exists in the perfect location. We have a great location now and have built so many connections with those around us that it is hard to think about moving outside of our little zone. We will not be moving very far, but we will be moving (most likely) out of the current school district we live in now and for me (for some strange reason) is harder than I thought. I want the best for my girls, just like any mother does and I guess part of me feels guilty for making Nora move schools this year and now she is going to be doing it again next year. The district we will most likely be moving into is a great one and offers so much just like our current district, just a little different. Heck I did graduate from the district and I turned out okay. Sometimes I get these mental blocks and it is hard to get past them.
It is also so bitter sweet to be leaving our home. It is not just a house anymore. As I was laying in bed last night I told Peter I was nervous to move because we are leaving behind this house. Which is ironic because there are so many things I don't like about our current house. I guess that is the sentimental side of me. We bought our home at the end of July 2005! Almost 10 years ago, which is really crazy to think about. We got married in that home, we brought Staley home, we brought Nora into that home, we brought Stella into that home, we remodeled that home in a lot of different ways. We have graduated with a combined 3 degrees in that home. We made friends with neighbors in that home. We made it ours and now in a few short months it will no longer be ours, but someone else's home and we will begin in a new house, that will eventually become a home.

Houses can grow on us, and makes it hard to let one go. But since it’s for the best interest of the family, it is essential that you do. Anyway, have you sold the house yet? And most importantly, have you found your new home? Whichever the case, I hope things are doing great for you guys.
